ACES was founded by Sandra Brooks, a school counselor and educational advocate, who believes all children truly want to be successful in school. She learned from personal interaction with students that their lack of success led to low self-esteem, decreased motivation, and often depression and at-risk behaviors. Her experience, supported by edcuational research, has shown one-on-one tutoring to be the most effective technique in improving academic performance. Additionally, it builds confidence, reduces stress, improves motivation and reduces at-risk behaviors.
The ACES Approach
An ACES Educational Consultant will schedule a free consultation with you in the convenience of your own home. The consultant will discuss your child’s educational history, learning style, strengths and weaknesses, and goals for tutoring. In addition, they will provide you with a detailed explanation of the diagnostic assessments available to you.
The Educational Consultant will then thoughtfully match your child with a tutor based on subjects, goals for tutoring and personality. Tutors review all available assessments and work with the student to identify their unique learning style, strengths and weaknesses. From this they develop a customized and personalized learning plan that uses techniques and strategies to make learning both fun and efficient.
Parents are guaranteed that their tutor will thoroughly meet their expectations. If you are not thoroughly satisfied with you child’s tutor or the progress that you see, ACES will immediately substitute a tutor that better meets your needs. There are no long-term contracts or up-front costs.
